In new home construction you’ll often hear discussions about “the building envelope” or “an air-tight home”. Both are important and yes, you want your new home to be as air-tight as possible. We’ve been building high quality, energy-efficient modular homes since 1991 at our factory in Morewood, Ontario.
All Guildcrest Homes come with an HRV, and the factory building process allows the tightest building envelope possible. An HRV (Heat Recovery Ventilator) is very important in an air-tight home. What does this mean for you, as a homebuyer? Reduced air leakage means less drafts, noise, odors, lost warm air in the winter (or cooled air in the summer) and a general increase in energy efficiency.
Independent blower door testing shows our homes are 8X more air-tight than a typical home site built to current building code.
Easy On Your Wallet
Living in a Guildcrest Home is easier on your wallet and on the environment. Our homes have repeatedly been recognized for their energy efficiency.
Efficiency– The Sum Of All The parts
With careful attention to detail in the construction of the building envelope and the use of high-performance windows, low consumption fixtures and high efficiency heat recovery ventilation (HRV) systems, energy efficiency is built into every Guildcrest Home.
The benefits to a homeowner are:
- Tight, well insulated construction help eliminate drafts and cold spots and maintain a more consistent temperature throughout your home
- Efficient, whole house ventilation systems provide a constant flow of fresh air while recovering most of the heat from the stale air being exhausted thereby maintaining a more comfortable, healthier indoor environment
- Lower utility bills help reduce your home’s cost of ownership and act as a resale feature.
We are proud to be your Holmes Approved Homes builder in Eastern Ontario. In addition to our own certifications, you will now have Mike’s team of experts standing behind your new home too. Together, we are Making It Right!
