These are often called concrete sandwich panels or precast insulated wall panels —are complete building systems featuring a layer of rigid foam insulation sandwiched between two concrete layers, or wythes.
Main Types of Insulated Concrete Panels:
Precast Concrete Sandwich Panels - Factory-made panels with interior and exterior concrete layers connected by non-conductive ties through a continuous insulation layer. They can be load-bearing or non-load-bearing.
Concrete Faced Insulation (CFI) - Thinner panels (like WallGUARD) made with extruded polystyrene (XPS) foam and a durable latex-modified concrete facing, used primarily to insulate exposed foundation perimeters.
Insulated Concrete Forms (ICFs) - Hollow stay-in-place expanded polystyrene (EPS) foam blocks (such as Amvic ICF R30) stacked and filled with reinforced concrete on-site.
