THE BUILDING INSPECTION PROCESS
All Holmes Approved Homes go through unbiased, 3rd party inspections. Our Mike Holmes Inspections team consists of only the most qualified, experienced building inspectors. Each inspector is a licensed Level 1 Thermographer meaning our inspectors are trained on the most advanced technology and specialized equipment to conduct the most comprehensive assessment of your home’ major systems and components.
Our Mike Holmes Inspectors use a customized checklist for all Holmes Approved Homes, to address any deficiencies in the various stages of construction so our home builders can fix those at the right stage of construction.
CHECKLIST
We work with our Holmes Approved Homes builders to create a customized protocol checklist for various areas of the house, including but not limited to:
- Foundation & waterproofing system
- Mechanical and electrical systems are inspected
- Complete inspection of the home’s insulation is done within all ceilings and walls
- Moisture tests are performed, verifying that moisture wasn’t trapped behind the walls
- Top to bottom assesment including the exterior building envelope, all floor levels including the basement, mechanical and electrical rough-ins and more
Homeowners receive documentation for 3rd party quality control, warranty protection and better re-sale value. This documentation includes photos of the house during each inspection stage. Ask your local builder about specific inspection checklist items.

HOLMES APPROVED HOMES INSPECTION STAGES
All of our Holmes Approved Homes builders are inspected by Mike Holmes inspectors, inspecting each stage of construction.
